श्री गोकुलेन्दुर्जयति – श्री कृष्णाय नम: – श्री गोपीजनवल्लभाय नम:

आप सभी को बसंत पंचमी की बधाई

Have been planning to write a blog about my personal thoughts on all things Pushti, for some time. Basant Panchami being one of the best days to begin anything, I have atleast scribbled my first letters.

आगे भगवद् कृपा…

Danvat Pranam.
I have studied interior design and architecture as undergraduate and graduate studies.
I am now enrolled for my Phd in architecture and the subject is to understand Vaastushastra and its application in modern settings.
Since you have studied architecture, could you please guide me on – finding original text and helping me find palaces, temples that are designed as per vaastushastra principles.

Madhviji,
First, I regret I wasn’t able to reply earlier. Prabhu Kripa se 2010 has brought with it a lot of His work !
A PhD in a subject of Architecture is something great and you are lucky to be able to pursue it.
Can you give me your exact thesis topic and a synopsis, I would then be able to understand it better and see if I can really be of some help. Vastu Shastra and its present application is a very broad subject. My own dissertation topic was something similar,’ The Haveli Temple – a study of the development of the Vaishnav Haveli Temple’ upto the present application.
You can email me from here.
Ashirvad.

Heema,
Chinta-Santa…is a Manglacharan. Manglacharans are a part of literature of almost every religion, and more prominent in Sanatan Hindu Sanskrit literature.
The word Manglacharan in made up of Mangal + Acharan which would literally translate to Auspicious + Doing – meaning that which would create auspicious (favourable) circumstances.
In Pushtimarg for this to happen it is but natural that we remember and bow to Shri Thakurji, Shri Vallabh, Shri Gusainji, Guru. “Also to express our humility – whatever will happen will be due to your Grace, we have very limited control over future circumstances.” These stutis form a part of Manglacharan.
That is why they are said before commencing any work, not only pravachans.
Take Chinta Santa…for example. 1st Shloka is for Shri Vallabh, 2nd for Shri Gusainji, 3rd for Our Guru – Shri Vallabh Kul, 4th & 5th for Shri Thakurji.
In Pushtimarg the no. of Manglacharans would be countless – Shri Govardhannath Paad Yugalam, Barhapeedam Natvar… (for Shri Gokulchandramaji) even Yamunashtak etc. Our Acharyas before they began explaining any Granth (teeka) always started with various manglacharans. They are some of the most wonderful stutis.

Since your question was linked to the first post – it just escaped my mind due to the involvement in the setting up of the blog at that time.
Maybe that is why you didn’t ask any more? :)Questions are most welcome – the blog exists for that.
Just had a call from Foram,
Ashirvad.
